Where to find it

At Redmane Castle in Caelid, inside a small building just northwest of the Chamber Outside the Plaza Site of Grace, past an Abductor Virgin.

If you reach the Altus Plateau before picking it up, it becomes unavailable until you defeat Starscourge Radahn and exhaust Castellan Jerren‘s dialogue.

Item description & lore

A glowing red-hot whetblade carved with a cipher that works like a whetstone knife. It opens up fire and flame art affinities for weapons.

Notes & tips

  • Grab it before heading to the Altus Plateau to avoid it getting locked behind the Radahn fight.
  • Carries over into New Game+.
