Midra’s Manse

Midra’s Manse is a grand, decaying house that once belonged to Sage Midra and his lady Nanaya. Inside you find a library with towering bookshelves, chandeliers, hidden rooms behind paintings, and a lot of unpleasant residents: Inquisitors, a Large Inquisitor, Horned Warrior spirits, giant rats and Shadow Undead touched by the Frenzied Flame.

At the end waits Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame. Nanaya can be found too, long dead in a chair in one of the rooms.

The manse belongs to the Abyssal Woods area, and the Abyss map fragment shows both on your map.

Lore

Sage Midra once tried to become a Lord of Frenzied Flame, embraced by the Three Fingers, but he was too weak. The Hornsent punished him: Inquisitors broke into his home and pinned him with the Greatsword of Damnation, suppressing his power. Afterwards the manse and the surrounding woods were declared forbidden. Those who served the house, like the craftsman behind the Mad Craftsman’s cookbooks, had their eyes burned by the flame.
