Preceptor Seluvis
Preceptor Seluvis is Ranni’s advisor, a sorcerer who lives in Seluvis’s Rise in the Three Sisters. He treats every Tarnished with open contempt, and he has a hobby that tells you everything about him: he turns living people into obedient puppets.
He sells powerful sorceries, and his questline gives you some of the best spirit ashes in the game. It also asks you to do some deeply unpleasant things. Behind Ranni’s back, Seluvis is planning to make her his puppet too.

Questline
- Join Ranni’s service and talk to all her followers.
- Visit Seluvis and accept his request. He gives you Seluvis’s Potion.
- Give the potion to Nepheli Loux, the Dung Eater or Sir Gideon Ofnir, or simply return. His shop then opens.
- Find his hidden chamber through an illusory floor in the ruins northeast of Ranni’s Rise. Ask him about it and buy a puppet.
- Ask about his scheme and bring him the Amber Starlight from the Altus Plateau. You get the Magic Scorpion Charm and, later, the Amber Draught.
Fate & endings
Seluvis dies one way or another. If you give the Amber Draught to Ranni, Ranni’s questline stalls, so most players simply keep it. Either way, his Bell Bearing and armor can be taken from his body afterwards, and his puppet shop stays open.
Lore
Seluvis’s puppets include Finger Maiden Therolina, Jarwight and, depending on your choices, Nepheli Loux or the Dung Eater.

- Do not give the Amber Draught to Ranni unless you want to pause her story.
