Redmane Knight

Redmane Knights are the elite of Radahn’s army. They wear the red-maned lion on their armour and greatshields, and the red plumes on their helms honour Radahn’s descent from Radagon. They fight with greatswords, partisans and greatbows.

You find them across Caelid, at Redmane Castle and in the War-Dead Catacombs, often alongside the more common Radahn Soldiers.

How to beat it

A Redmane Knight is a proper duel. Shield users block a lot, so circle around them or use heavy attacks and guard counters to break their guard. Greatbow users are dangerous at range; close the distance quickly or use cover.

Fight them one at a time and do not let a knight and a group of soldiers surround you.

Lore

When Malenia’s Scarlet Rot broke them, the Redmane Knights burned the crest on the left breast of their armour as a sign of resolve. They knew that their duty in Caelid meant they would never see home again, and they stayed to hold back the rot.
