Snowy Crone
The Snowy Crone, sometimes called the snow witch, is a figure you only ever hear about. She was a heretical sorceress who worked forbidden cold magic far out in the woods, and she became the hidden teacher of Ranni when the princess was young.
She is remembered as an old woman all in snow-white, wrapped in a heavy grey fur cloak and wearing a broad, pointed hat rimed with frost.
Lore
The crone passed her frost sorceries to Ranni in secret. Three of the spells tied to her can actually be found in the game: Freezing Mist, Frozen Armament and Glintstone Icecrag.
The famous wide, icy hat and white robes that Ranni wears were once the crone’s own. Some players also suspect a link between her cold magic and the sorcery of the Zamor people, though the game never confirms it.
Notes & tips
- Look for her in item descriptions: the frost spells and Ranni’s outfit are where her story is told.
