Gravebird

Gravebirds are golems made to watch over the spiritgraves in the Realm of Shadow, said to have been built as kin to the Deathbirds. They breathe ghostflame and carry a spur near their tail feathers that poisons whatever it hits.

You find them in many corners of the DLC: the Gravesite Plain, Belurat, Tower Settlement, Scadu Altus, Rauh Base, the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, the Cerulean Coast, Charo’s Hidden Grave, the Abyssal Woods, the Stone Coffin Fissure and Enir-Ilim.

How to beat it

Since Gravebirds count among Those Who Live in Death, anti-undead tools like Last Rites work especially well on them. Watch the tail: the green spur inflicts Poison, but in the Stone Coffin Fissure the spur is purple and puts you to Sleep instead, which is far more dangerous.

Stay out of the line of their ghostflame breath. The ones in Enir-Ilim are the only Gravebirds that can also call up Rings of Spectral Light, so give those a little more respect.

Lore

Legend says the Gravebirds were crafted as kindred to the Deathbirds, set to guard the spiritgraves of the Realm of Shadow.
