Rot ticks away at enemies while you keep stabbing, which makes it a good fit for patient, fast-attacking Dex builds. Its description ties it to a secret believer in scarlet rot.

The spur of a giant ant shaped into a rapier and dripping with scarlet rot. Its owner, Maleigh Marais of the Shaded Castle, quietly followed the old legend of rot, and in time found a goddess of his own to worship, in Malenia, Blade of Miquella.
