Roderika
Roderika is a Tarnished noblewoman who crossed the sea to the Lands Between with a small group of companions. All of them ended up on Godrick’s grafting table in Stormveil Castle, and she alone escaped. You find her hiding in Stormhill Shack, scared, sad and quietly honest about it.
With a little help she moves to Roundtable Hold, where Smithing Master Hewg spots her gift for spirit tuning. From then on she is the person who makes your spirit ashes stronger, and one of the gentlest stories in the game.
Services / shop
Spirit tuning: upgrades Spirit Ashes up to +10 using Grave Glovewort and Ghost Glovewort (after her questline at Roundtable Hold).
Questline
- Stormhill Shack (optional). Talk to her until she runs out of things to say. She gives you the “Sitting Sideways” gesture and the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes. This only works before you beat Godrick or rest at a Site of Grace in Liurnia.
- Stormveil Castle (optional). In a courtyard next to the big hall with a Grafted Scion, pick up the Chrysalids’ Memento.
- Stormhill Shack (optional). Hand her the memento and talk until she decides to leave for Roundtable Hold.
- Roundtable Hold. She sits by the fireplace in the central room and gives you a Golden Seed when you speak to her.
- Talk to her, then ask Smithing Master Hewg “About Roderika”. Go back and tell her what he said.
- Return to Hewg, choose “About Roderika”, then “Would you watch over Roderika?” and “It’s what she wants”.
- Reload the area. She now sits across from Hewg and can upgrade your Spirit Ashes.
- Optional: upgrade any Spirit Ash to +4 or higher and talk to her for the “Curtsy” gesture.
If you skipped the shack conversation, she still turns up at Roundtable Hold on her own after Godrick falls, but leaves the Golden Seed on the floor of Stormhill Shack for you to pick up.
Fate & endings
After the Erdtree burns, Roderika begs you to help persuade Hewg to leave the Roundtable, since his chains are broken and the place will be the end of him. He will not go, so she stays with him, even as his memory of her fades, because he made her who she is. As the hold burns, she asks you to become Elden Lord and to strike down Queen Marika with the weapons Hewg forged.
To see it all: after burning the Erdtree, talk to Hewg (“Let’s talk a while”, then “Why are you still making weapons?”), ask Roderika “About Hewg”, and go back to Hewg for “What happened to her?”. After beating Maliketh, ask Hewg “About yourself” and speak to Roderika one last time.
Lore
Roderika has never seen the guidance of grace, but she still made the journey for the people she loved. The companions who fought for her were taken apart limb by limb and stitched onto Godrick’s grafted creature in Stormveil. She calls them her little chrysalids and asks you to tell them she loves them.
Hewg recognises her talent because it reminds him of another spirit tuner he once knew, someone whose eyes were the same colour as hers.
Notes & tips
- She cannot be hurt or killed, so there is no way to lose her services.
- Once she becomes a spirit tuner she stops wearing her hood. The Crimson Hood then shows up in Stormveil Castle, where the Chrysalids’ Memento used to be.
- Her Spirit Jellyfish Ashes are worth grabbing early, they are a reliable ranged helper for the Godrick fight.
