Commoner

Commoners are the everyday people of the Lands Between, and you find them wherever there is a castle or settlement. Most of them have lost their wits and lash out at you on sight. Many wear a wooden board around the neck, carved with a spreading tree and its roots.

You meet them early in Stormveil Castle and Fort Haight, and later in Liurnia of the Lakes, Redmane Castle and on the Altus Plateau. A Frenzied Commoner variant exists as well.

How to beat it

On their own, Commoners are weak and fall quickly. The danger comes from numbers and from not paying attention: they are often grouped together in narrow places. Fight them one or two at a time and keep your back clear.

Lore

The tree-carved board around their necks is a shackle they put on themselves, a way of showing loyalty to the Erdtree.
