Farum Azula Dragon
The dragons of Crumbling Farum Azula are ancient dragons: four-legged, four-winged beasts whose grey bodies are made of jagged stone laced with gold. Besides fire breath, they call down storms of red lightning and wield it as spears and glaives. Many more of them circle the ruined city, but only a few can actually be fought, and they do not come back once killed.
The strongest one is the only one you can use Spirit Ashes against. Three weaker ones wait near the Crumbling Beast Grave, south of the Dragon Temple Lift and at the Dragon Temple Rooftop Sites of Grace.

How to beat it
Watch the ground: red patches show where its lightning is about to strike, so step out of them. Aim for the head whenever you can, since it takes double damage and stance damage there, and pierce weapons or anti-dragon effects help even more. Its attacks cannot be parried, but breaking its stance opens it up for a critical hit. Leave lightning at home, as it shrugs most of it off.
Lore
The ancient dragons ruled before the age of the Erdtree under Dragonlord Placidusax, guarding him like a wall of living rock. Their kin include Ancient Dragon Lansseax, Ancient Dragon Senessax and Lichdragon Fortissax. When they die, their gold fades and they crumble back into plain stone.
