Radagon of the Golden Order

Radagon of the Golden Order waits inside the Erdtree at the very end of the game, the first half of the final battle. He was Rennala’s husband, then Marika’s consort and the second Elden Lord, and the truth about who he really is is one of the biggest revelations of the story.

He fights with a hammer and a lot of holy power: shockwaves, golden spears and teleports. Once he falls, the fight is not over. The Elden Beast comes next, and if it kills you, you have to beat Radagon again.

How to beat it

Radagon swings his hammer quickly, and many swings create shockwaves, either right away or after a short delay. When you see golden cracks spread over the floor, an explosion is coming, so get away from them.

At range he throws golden spears, either one big one from the air or a volley. Later he starts teleporting and exploding when he reappears, and at half health he opens with three huge hammer strikes. Stay close, dodge through his swings and keep your health high before the second half of the fight.

Lore

Radagon married Rennala of the Carian royal family, then left her to become Marika’s consort. The Golden Order bears his name, and the statue in Bellum Church shows him instead of the Queen. His fight is where the story makes clear how closely he and Marika are bound together.

Notes & tips

  • Bring holy resistance. Both halves of the final fight deal a lot of holy damage.
