Fire Giant
The Fire Giant is the last survivor of his people, cursed to guard the very Forge of the Giants that the giants once tended. You find him on Flame Peak in the Mountaintops of the Giants, and he is one of the largest bosses in the game. Riding up to his feet for the first time is a moment you do not forget.
It is a long, physical fight across a sloping snowfield. Torrent is essential, and so is patience.

How to beat it
Phase 1. The Giant fights with a huge round shield, rolls to cover ground and sends avalanches down the slope. Ride Torrent and focus on the red braids wrapped around his left ankle. Once you have done enough damage there, he stumbles and his weak spot opens up.
Phase 2. Below about half health, a cutscene plays: the Giant tears off his own damaged leg and fights on his knees. He is slower but much more dangerous with fire: pillars of flame, fire breath and molten rocks raining down. Stay close and behind his arm, attack in short bursts and ride away when the fire starts.

Lore
The Fire Giants fought Marika’s forces in the War Against the Giants and lost. Marika spared only one, and cursed him to guard the flame forever. The eye on his chest is the eye of the fell god his people worshipped.

- The Giant’s sleeping face on his chest wakes up in phase 2.
- His remembrance can be traded for the Giant’s Red Braid or Burn, O Flame!
