Morgott, the Omen King
Morgott, the Omen King is the lord of Leyndell, Royal Capital and the last guardian of the Erdtree. You meet him at the end of the capital, at the foot of the great tree, and he wants you gone just as much as he did the first time you saw him.
If he looks familiar, there is a reason: Morgott is the one who wore the shape of Margit, the Fell Omen. Born an Omen and hidden away by his own family, he has spent his life defending a throne and a tree that rejected him.

How to beat it
Phase 1. Morgott fights a lot like Margit, but faster and with more variety. He uses a curved sword that causes blood loss, throws daggers and a holy spear, and closes distance with jumps and cartwheels. As with Margit, wait for the end of his combos and punish his overhead slams.
Phase 2. At half health his cursed blood erupts from the floor. His blade now carries bloodflame, and he summons golden swords that rain down from above. Keep moving sideways when the blades fall and watch out for his long-reaching blood slashes.
Help. Melina can be summoned for this fight, and so can the Dung Eater if you have freed him.
Lore
Morgott and his twin Mohg were born to Marika and Godfrey with horns, the mark of the Omen. They were hidden in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds beneath the capital. Morgott still chose to defend the Golden Order, calling himself its guardian until the very end.
Notes & tips
- After he falls, Melina gives you the Rold Medallion, opening the way to the Mountaintops of the Giants.
- His Great Rune is restored at the Divine Tower of East Altus.
