Mountaintops of the Giants
The Mountaintops of the Giants are the cold, windswept roof of the Lands Between. Snow covers everything, the frozen bodies of giants lie half buried in the ice, and the sky is a pale, endless grey. After the gold of Leyndell, it feels like the end of the world, and in a way it is.
Long ago, Marika and Godfrey marched up here and destroyed the Fire Giants in a terrible war. Their last survivor still guards the Forge of the Giants on Flame Peak, and that forge is where the game’s story turns. The region also holds Castle Sol, the hidden road to Miquella’s Haligtree, and a few of the hardest fights in the base game.

How to get there
After beating Morgott in Leyndell, Melina gives you the Rold Medallion. Cross the Forbidden Lands east of the capital and ride the Grand Lift of Rold up into the mountains.
Lore
The Fire Giants once held the Flame of Ruin, and Marika feared it could burn the Erdtree. She ordered Godfrey to put the giants to the sword, and the last of them was cursed to guard the very flame his people had tended. Marika’s words to Godfrey still echo at the First Church of Marika.
