Sites of Grace are the golden checkpoints scattered across the Lands Between. Resting at one refills your health, FP and flasks, sets your respawn point and opens a menu where you level up, manage your gear and fast travel. The catch is that most enemies you killed come back.
What resting does
- Restores your HP and FP to full and clears buffs and status ailments.
- Refills both flasks, the Flask of Crimson Tears and the Flask of Cerulean Tears.
- Makes this grace your respawn point.
- Brings back most normal enemies you have killed. Bosses, NPCs and some other foes stay dead.
The grace menu
Once you sit down, the menu gives you a lot of options:
- Pass Time – skip ahead to morning, noon or nightfall.
- Level Up – spend runes on your stats.
- Flasks – add charges to your flasks, increase how much they restore, and split charges between HP and FP.
- Memorize Spell – pick which sorceries and incantations to bring.
- Mix Wondrous Physick – change the tears in your Flask of Wondrous Physick.
- Sort Chest – move items in and out of storage.
- Great Runes – equip a restored Great Rune.
- Ashes of War – attach skills and change weapon affinities.
- Alter Garments – switch some armor to an alternate look.
Some graces have extra options, like talking to Melina, asking her to take you to Roundtable Hold, or speaking to the Miniature Ranni.
Finding graces
The game’s own advice is simple: go where the light gathers. Once you have touched a grace, you can fast travel to it. Early ones include Church of Elleh and the graces in the Stranded Graveyard, and you will find them in every region: Limgrave, Liurnia of the Lakes, Caelid, Altus Plateau, Leyndell and beyond, including the Realm of Shadow in the expansion.
Some graces are named after the boss whose arena they sit beside, such as the one at Margit, the Fell Omen in Stormhill. Others mark special places like the Divine Tower of Limgrave or the Divine Tower of Caelid.
Tips
- If you are low on flasks but close to a boss, resting first is almost always worth the respawned enemies.
- Resting does not bring back your dropped runes. Head back to the spot where you died before anything else.
- If you need a respawn closer to a tough area, look for a Stake of Marika rather than relying only on graces.
