Imp

Imps are small green stone golems wearing masks shaped like beasts, demons or old men. They were built to serve the Erdtree Burial Watchdogs as tireless tomb guards, and they still lurk in catacombs and hero’s graves. They cling to walls and ceilings and drop on you when you walk past.

There are several kinds, including cat, fanged, long-tongued, wolf and lion imps, each with its own head and back; some have wings. They fight with forked blades that cause Blood Loss and may throw fire, magic or lightning pots. You find them in Stormfoot Catacombs, Murkwater Catacombs, Impaler’s Catacombs, Minor Erdtree Catacombs, Fringefolk Hero’s Grave, Road’s End Catacombs, Sainted Hero’s Grave and Auriza Side Tomb, among others.

How to beat it

Look up when you enter a new room in a catacomb. Imps hide overhead and attack as you pass. Strike weapons like hammers and clubs work well against their stone bodies, and their stance is low, so heavy hits stagger them quickly.

Lion imps are very acrobatic, much like the Divine Beast Dancing Lion and Elder Lions, while wolf imps swing greatswords. Dodge their combos and counter when they land.

Lore

An ancient golem-maker made the imps using glintstone tools. Their forked blades are called imp’s tongues.
