Forked-Tongue Hatchet

The Forked-Tongue Hatchet is a light Shadow of the Erdtree axe with a wavy, split blade that builds up blood loss on every hit. Its unique skill, Dragonform Flame, has you breathe a sweeping arc of fire from a dragon-shaped maw, and the flames linger on the ground for a moment.

With modest Strength and Dexterity requirements and even D scaling in both, it fits nicely into a quality or bleed build that wants a quick one-handed axe. It is an odd little tool, shaped like a forked-tongued dragon, and very much an imp’s weapon.

Where to find it

A rare drop (about 2%) from hatchet-wielding Imps in the catacombs of the Realm of Shadow. The Scorpion River Catacombs are a good place to farm it.

Item description & lore

Imps carry these hatchets, forged in the likeness of a dragon with a forked tongue. The rippling blade is nicknamed the imp’s tongue, and it is that shape that makes wounds bleed so badly.

Notes & tips

  • Has built-in blood loss buildup, on top of the fire from its skill.
  • The drop rate is low, so expect to farm for a while.
