Grand Cloister

The Grand Cloister is an old temple complex of the ancient dynasty on the southern edge of the Lake of Rot. A river of scarlet rot pours down from the lake above and runs straight through the temple, so watch your footing.

The place is swarming with Kindred of Rot, many of them gathered in worship before a huge statue of a bearded figure and a little dagger, the Scorpion’s Stinger. A Putrid Tree Spirit also lurks here and drops a Golden Seed.

A coffin on the southwest side carries you even deeper, to the arena of Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.

How to get there

Cross the Lake of Rot to its southern edge and take the big staircase down. The Site of Grace is about halfway down the stairs.

Lore

The Kindred of Rot treat the Scorpion’s Stinger as a holy relic of their sealed Outer God of rot, which explains why so many of them are kneeling in front of a dagger.
