Mimic Tear

The Mimic Tear is one of the cleverest fights in Elden Ring. Deep in Nokron, Eternal City, a pool of liquid silver rises up and becomes you: your weapons, your armor, your spells, even your flask.

It is a strange and fun idea, and it means the fight is different for every player. The Nox once hoped to forge a lord out of these silver tears. Here, you find out what that lord would look like if it were you.

How to beat it

The Mimic Tear copies the equipment you are wearing when you enter the arena. That gives you a powerful trick: walk in with light gear and a weaker weapon, wait for it to copy you, then switch to your real setup. Some players even enter naked.

It also copies your fighting style, so expect it to roll when you attack and to heal once with its own flask. Patient, careful play works best. Spirit ashes and helpers are allowed.

Lore

The Nox of the Eternal Cities tried to forge a lord of their own from silver tears. The Mimic Tear is the result, and its spirit ashes, found in Night’s Sacred Ground, are among the strongest in the game.

Notes & tips

  • Beating the Mimic Tear is required for the Age of the Stars ending.
  • Do not confuse it with the Mimic Tear Ashes, a spirit summon of yourself found nearby.
