Royal Greatsword

A colossal sword in the Carian style, built around Strength and Intelligence. Its unique skill, Wolf’s Assault, covers the blade in frost, flips forward to stab the ground and then releases a burst of cold.

It belonged to Blaidd, and it is a great choice for a Strength/Intelligence hybrid.

Where to find it

Obtained from Blaidd at Ranni’s Rise once Ranni‘s questline is finished, together with his armour (apart from the Black Wolf Mask). Killing him earlier gives you nothing.

Item description & lore

Blaidd the Half-Wolf rejected the fate he was born to and swore to serve no master but Ranni. The sword took on its cold magic the moment he made that oath.

Notes & tips

  • Intelligence scaling is slightly stronger than Strength scaling, even with the same letter grade, but a Str/Int hybrid gets close to the same damage for far fewer points.
  • The weapon itself does not cause frostbite; both parts of the skill do (60 on the stab, 100 on the blast).
