Hero

The Hero comes from a line of chieftains in the badlands and fights with a heavy axe and a leather shield. It is the most Strength-focused class in the game, starting with 16 points in the stat, more than anyone else.

In the opening hours the Hero hits hard and can take a beating thanks to 14 Vigor and 12 Endurance. The Battle Axe deals solid damage per swing, and the Large Leather Shield gives you a dependable block. It plays slower and heavier than the dexterous classes, trading speed for weight behind every hit.

The weaknesses are on the magic side. Mind 9, Intelligence 7 and Faith 8 make it a poor caster at the start. Arcane 11 is a small bonus if you ever want to lean that way, but the Hero is really built to swing big weapons.
