Fire Knight Kood
Kood is the captain of the Fire Knights, the order that served directly under Messmer the Impaler. He wields the Flame Spear Ash of War and hits hard with it. He does not respawn after you beat him.
You meet him at the Shadow Keep, guarding the Dark Chamber Entrance, the route to Messmer’s boss arena.

How to beat it
Treat him like a small boss right before a real one. Learn the reach of his flame spear attacks and dodge into them rather than away, then punish the recovery. Have your flasks topped up before you start, since he is the last guard before Messmer.
His Winged Serpent Helm boosts Fire Knight skills by 10%: Flame Skewer, Flame Spear, Flare, O Serpent and Messmer’s Assault.
Lore
Captain Kood, like his men, was born into a noble family of the Erdtree’s high society and was exiled after swearing loyalty to Messmer. He understood the cursed, serpent-like flames that tormented his lord.
