Albus’s Questline
Old Albus is an elderly Albinauric who survived the massacre of the Village of the Albinaurics at the hands of Sir Gideon Ofnir‘s men. He is the only one left there with his wits intact, and he has kept himself safe in the most charming way possible: by pretending to be a pot.
He guards the right half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, one of the two keys to the hidden lands of Miquella’s Haligtree. His story is tiny, just one conversation, but it starts Latenna’s questline and is the first step on the road to the Haligtree.
Walkthrough
- Climb the slope in the village. In Liurnia of the Lakes, rest at the Village of the Albinaurics Site of Grace and head up the slope beyond it, near the Depraved Perfumer.
- Break the pot. At the top you find a pot that is a little too lively. Roll into it or hit it to break the illusion, and Albus appears in his true form.
- Talk to him. Once he is sure you are not one of the cursemongers who wrecked his home, he gives you the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Right). Exhaust his dialogue. He asks you to keep it safe and pass it on to the young Albinauric Latenna. With his duty done, Albus fades away, as all Albinaurics eventually do.
- Take it to Latenna. Show the medallion half to Latenna at the Slumbering Wolf’s Shack to carry on with her story.
Missable steps & failure conditions
- No real lock-outs. Albus also drops the medallion half if you kill him, so you cannot lose it. There is no reason to hurt the old man, though.
Endings & consequences
- Latenna. Albus’s medallion is what convinces Latenna that you can be trusted, and it is the simplest way to get her spirit ashes.
- The road to the Haligtree. Together with the left half from Castle Sol, the medallion opens the hidden way to Miquella’s Haligtree.
- Gideon. Sir Gideon’s men are behind the massacre of the village, and Gideon himself is hunting for the medallion. Albus keeps it out of their hands by giving it to you.
