Sacrificial Twig

An insurance policy for your runes. If you die while wearing it, you keep your runes, but the twig breaks and is gone. The exception is death by Death Blight: then the twig does not break, but it does not save your runes either.

Because you do not drop runes when it saves you, your earlier bloodstain stays where it was, giving you another chance to recover it.

Item description & lore

A talisman made from a dried twig so thin it looks ready to snap. It is thought to have been pruned from the Erdtree a very long time ago.

Notes & tips

  • Put it on just before running into a dangerous area while carrying lots of runes, and take it off afterwards so you do not waste it.
  • Works like the Twiggy Cracked Tear in that it leaves your previous bloodstain in place.
  • Especially handy around big drops, where a fall death would otherwise cost you everything.
  • Be careful when farming twigs from Wormfaces: their Death Blight kills you without breaking the twig, but your runes are still lost.
