Leyndell, Ashen Capital
Leyndell, Ashen Capital is what is left of the Royal Capital after the Erdtree burns. The city you once explored is buried under thick grey ash, with only the tallest buildings still poking out. It is quiet, empty and very sad, and it is the last stretch before the end of the game.
Two old faces wait for you here. Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing, the man who ran the Roundtable Hold, steps in your way. After him comes Godfrey, First Elden Lord, the real one this time, who will show you exactly who he used to be before he became a king.

How to get there
You arrive here automatically after defeating Maliketh, the Black Blade, in Crumbling Farum Azula. After that, the old Royal Capital is gone for good.
Lore
Defeating Maliketh frees the Rune of Death, and the Flame of Ruin burns away the thorns that sealed the Erdtree. The ash covering the city is what remains of that fire.
