Jar Innards

Jar Innards, also called Jar Dwellers or Jar Saints, are great jars stuffed with flesh. The jars hop toward you and then shatter, and the mass of meat inside comes after you with a nasty grab. There are a few different varieties.

You meet them in the gaols of the Realm of Shadow, such as Belurat Gaol, Bonny Gaol and Lamenter’s Gaol, and in Shadow Keep. Unlike the Living Jars of the Lands Between, they are not just pots on legs but what is sealed inside.

How to beat it

The grab is the big threat. If it catches you, mash the buttons right away: you can break free within about a second and a half and skip most of the damage.

Keep your distance while the jars are still jumping around and hit them as they land. Fighting several at once in a cramped gaol is how most deaths happen, so pull them back to a corridor if you can.

Lore

The innards were once people the Hornsent considered undesirable. They were butchered in rituals and sealed inside great jars, then stored deep underground in the gaols, where Greater Potentates prayed for them to be reborn as saints. The flesh of tortured shaman maidens was mixed in because it melded so easily with other flesh. The jar lids carry a Crucible Knot seal.
