Crystal Sword

The Crystal Sword is a Straight Sword carved from solid crystal. It deals a mix of physical and magic damage, scales with Strength and Intelligence, and comes with the Spinning Slash skill. It is upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones.

Despite its magical look, it tends to perform best on a Strength build, so it suits Strength characters with a bit of Intelligence, or anyone who wants a striking offhand blade for dual-wielding.

Item description & lore

No ordinary smith could shape a blade from pure crystal. It is tied to the Crystalians, whose single purpose is to guard their crystals forever. Some believe they are waiting for their creator to return and carve new kin for them.

Notes & tips

  • Spinning Slash can hit hard, especially against a player with low poise who is caught off guard, but the short reach of a Straight Sword holds it back.
  • Dexterity and Intelligence scaling are weak compared to Strength, so a mostly-Strength build gets the most attack power out of it.
  • A solid offhand choice if you like dual-wielding Straight Swords.
