A Shadow of the Erdtree straight sword with equal physical and holy damage. It needs 14 Strength, 11 Dexterity and 24 Faith.

Its unique skill, Darkness, raises the sword and sweeps the area around you with dark holy energy. It deals holy damage and briefly lowers the enemy’s holy damage negation.

Where to find it

Take the Stone-Sheathed Sword (or the Sword of Light) to the altar at Fog Rift Catacombs or Ruins of Unte in the Realm of Shadow. If your sword came from Fog Rift Catacombs or the Ancient Ruins of Rauh, use the altar at Ruins of Unte. If it came from Ruins of Unte, use Fog Rift Catacombs.

Drawn from its stone scabbard at an altar. Its dark blade is formed from coils of darkness that drift up from the roots.

Notes & tips

  • Once you turn it into this sword or the Sword of Light, you cannot get the Stone-Sheathed Sword again until the next playthrough. You can still swap between the two forms at their altars.
  • The skill takes about 4 seconds and lowers enemy holy negation by 20% for 60 seconds, so use it from an ambush.
  • This debuff does not stack with most other defence debuffs, except frostbite.
  • Pairs well with the Sword of Light’s holy damage buff.
