Maliketh’s Black Blade

A colossal sword that deals physical and holy damage, scaling with Strength and Faith, so it suits a Strength/Faith build. Its unique skill, Destined Death, plants the sword and calls up a field of blades; enemies hit lose some of their maximum HP and keep taking damage for a short while.

It is a faded remnant of Maliketh’s once fearsome blade.

Where to find it

A remembrance weapon. Defeat Maliketh, the Black Blade in Crumbling Farum Azula to get the Remembrance of the Black Blade, then trade it with Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold. You can also duplicate the remembrance at a Wandering Mausoleum to get both rewards in one playthrough.

Item description & lore

The blade once held the power of the Rune of Death. After part of Death was stolen on the Night of the Black Knives, Maliketh sealed the blade inside his own flesh so that Death could never be taken again.

Notes & tips

  • Only the skill applies the Destined Death effect, not normal attacks.
  • Leans a little more on Strength, but Faith scaling overtakes Strength past 60, and holy damage is easier to raise.
