Draconic Tree Sentinel

The Draconic Tree Sentinel is a bigger, angrier cousin of the Tree Sentinel you saw in Limgrave. Its golden armor is shaped like a dragon, and it fights with fire and lightning from horseback.

One stands on the stairs in front of the gate to Leyndell, Royal Capital in the Capital Outskirts, and you have to beat it to enter the capital. Another waits in Crumbling Farum Azula, where it is optional.

How to beat it

Fight it on Torrent or keep to its sides. Its hammer swings are slow and can be parried. Watch for its lightning strike from above: blocking it actually makes things worse, because all three bolts hit you. Roll away instead.

Its fire breath covers a wide cone in front, so circle to the horse’s flank when it rears back.
