Magma Wyrm
Magma Wyrms are huge, fire-breathing reptiles with a great curved sword growing out of their arm. They are tied to dragon communion, the practice of eating dragon hearts to take their power.
The most famous is the one in the Gael Tunnel in Caelid, which drops Moonveil. Magma Wyrm Makar guards the top of the Ruin-Strewn Precipice in Liurnia, and another waits near Fort Laiedd on Mt. Gelmir.
Drops
Moonveil and Dragon Heart (Gael Tunnel)
Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword and Dragon Heart (Magma Wyrm Makar, Ruin-Strewn Precipice)
Dragon Heart (Fort Laiedd and others)
Weaknesses
Attack the head after its big slams
Resistances & immunities
Fire breath and lava pools
How to beat it
Stay at its side and away from its breath. The wyrm spews lava that leaves burning pools on the floor, so keep moving to clean ground. Its sword arm swings in wide arcs, and its body slam has a long wind-up. Hit the head when it lowers it after a slam.
Notes & tips
- At the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, Great Horned Tragoth and others can be summoned to help against Makar.
