Ekzykes’s Decay

Ekzykes’s Decay lifts you up and turns you into a dragon that breathes rotting mist down from above. It deals damage and builds up scarlet rot, and keeping the cast going lets out a second breath.

It needs Faith and Arcane and fits Dragon Communion builds that want a strong rot option.

Trade 2 Dragon Hearts at the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid after defeating Decaying Ekzykes in Caelid.

Item description & lore

Ekzykes fought back against those who practised Dragon Communion, and he held on to that hatred even as scarlet rot consumed him.

Notes & tips

  • Costs 60 stamina to cast and another 60 for the follow-up breath.
  • Damage is boosted by the Roar Medallion, each Dragon Communion Seal held in an active hand (up to two), and the Rock Heart.
  • The rot buildup itself does not scale with Arcane, so the seal mainly adds raw damage.
  • Can be cast while jumping.
