The Lands Between
The Lands Between is the world of Elden Ring, a ring of regions gathered around the golden Erdtree. Since the Elden Ring was shattered, its demigods have fought over the pieces, and the land has fallen into ruin. You arrive as one of the Tarnished, called back from exile to make yourself Elden Lord.
Most players start in Limgrave and the rainy Weeping Peninsula, then head north through Stormveil Castle to the misty lakes of Liurnia of the Lakes. To the east lies the red wasteland of Caelid. From Liurnia, the road climbs to the golden Altus Plateau, the volcano of Mt. Gelmir and the capital, Leyndell, Royal Capital. Beyond the capital wait the frozen Mountaintops of the Giants, the hidden Consecrated Snowfield and Miquella’s Haligtree, and finally Crumbling Farum Azula.
Below the surface run two great rivers, the Siofra River and the Ainsel River, with the Deeproot Depths beneath them all. They hold some of the strangest and most beautiful places in the game.

How to get there
You start in the Stranded Graveyard in Limgrave. From there the world opens up gradually: Melina gives you Torrent, the Roundtable Hold becomes your home base, and two Great Runes open the way into the capital.
Lore
Queen Marika the Eternal ruled the Lands Between through the Elden Ring and the Erdtree. When the Ring was shattered, the demigods who took its pieces, the Great Runes, turned on each other in a war called the Shattering, and nobody won. The Tarnished, once exiled and stripped of grace, were called back to restore the Ring.
