Graven Mass

A Graven Mass is a ball of sorcerers fused together into a single floating sphere, a product of forbidden glintstone sorcery. They are rare, but you remember them once you see one.

You find them at Witchbane Ruins, in the Converted Fringe Tower, in Ainsel River Well, in the Swamp of Aeonia, at Lenne’s Rise and at Albinauric Rise in the Consecrated Snowfield. They do not drop any items.

How to beat it

Treat a Graven Mass as a sorcery turret. Do not stand far away trading spells with it. Close the distance, using cover where you can, and stay on it until it breaks. The ones in the north have far more health, so come prepared.

Lore

The primeval sorcerers who founded the Academy of Raya Lucaria followed the primeval current. They gathered lesser scholars and fused them into round clusters called seeds of stars. When Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon took over the Academy, she banned all study of the primeval current, and the sorcerers Lusat and Azur were driven out.

Sorceress Sellen, known as the Graven Witch, may have been involved in making them. If you side with her against Castellan Jerren and tell her where Azur and Lusat are, she ends her questline as a Graven Mass herself, wearing her crown.
