Mind

Mind in Elden Ring raises your FP and Focus. FP breakpoints, soft caps, Cerulean flask math and the best starting classes for Mind.

Mind raises your maximum FP, the blue bar you spend on spells and weapon skills. From 31 onwards it also adds Focus, your resistance to Sleep and Madness.

What Mind does

More FP means more casts and more weapon skills before you have to drink from the Flask of Cerulean Tears. Mind has no effect on damage at all, so think of it as fuel for your spells rather than a damage stat. You raise it the usual way: spend Runes at a Site of Grace once Melina has given you the ability to level up.

Soft caps and FP breakpoints

FP gains run around 3 per point at low Mind, rise to 5 or so from the mid-teens, and climb to 7 per point between 36 and 50. After 50 they slide back to 5 or 6, and past 60 you only get 2 or 3 FP per point. The FP soft caps are at 50 and 60.

Mind Max FP FP per point at this level
1 40 —
10 78 +3
15 95 +4
20 121 +5
30 173 +5
35 200 +6
40 235 +7
50 300 +7
60 350 +4
61 352 +2
70 375 +2
80 401 +3
99 450 +3

Focus gained from Mind:

Mind range Focus per point
31–40 +3
41–60 +0.5
61–99 +0.25

A useful comparison: a +0 Cerulean flask restores 80 FP, roughly what you have at 9 or 10 Mind, while a fully upgraded +12 flask restores 220 FP, about what you have at 37 or 38 Mind.

Which builds want Mind

Sorcery and incantation builds lean on Mind the most, since every spell costs FP. Melee builds that use weapon skills a lot also benefit from a modest investment, while a pure melee character who rarely uses skills can leave Mind near its starting value.
