Godrick Knight

Godrick Knights are the elite of Godrick’s army. They wear the same orange-and-green surcoats as his soldiers, with a breastplate showing a two-headed war axe, and their helms are topped with ashen plumes like their lord’s hair. Many carry greatshields coated in a reddish gold.

You meet them in Limgrave, at Fort Haight, on Stormhill and on the Weeping Peninsula. Some ride horses, and the mounted ones with partisans can use Golden Vow to buff themselves.

How to beat it

Early on, these knights are a real step up from the soldiers. Stay out of reach of their big swings, roll through toward their back, and hit them after a combo ends. Against mounted knights, dodge to the side as they ride past and strike while they turn.

A unique Godrick Knight has taken over Fort Haight. He uses Bloody Slash, a skill from the Lord of Blood, and wears a Lord of Blood’s Exultation. He does not respawn, and you must beat him before Kenneth Haight can return to his fort.

Lore

The red-gold colour of their greatshields mirrors the original substance that became the Erdtree, and is said to be the colour of longing for home.
