Three Fingers
The Three Fingers look like a disembodied hand with three finger-like appendages, much like the Two Fingers that serve the Greater Will. Unlike them, they are burned and smouldering, because they carry the curse of the Frenzied Flame. They are the source of the Frenzied Flame incantations, and they offer that flame so that a Lord of Frenzied Flame can rise.
They wait in the Frenzied Flame Proscription at the very bottom of the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds under Leyndell, Royal Capital. The way in is hidden behind an illusory wall at the back of the Cathedral of the Forsaken, and it stays sealed until you have defeated Morgott, the Omen King.
Questline
- Defeat Morgott, the Omen King.
- Go down into the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds and find the illusory wall at the back of the Cathedral of the Forsaken.
- Make your way to the very bottom, to the Frenzied Flame Proscription.
- The final door only opens if you take off all your armour.
- Meeting the Three Fingers and accepting their flame sets you on the path to becoming Lord of Frenzied Flame.
Lore
Long ago, the Three Fingers inscribed their message on the great stone tomb of an ancient god. A blind man named Shabriri was said to be the first to reach them and receive the Frenzied Flame. Later they embraced Sage Midra, choosing him to become Lord of Frenzied Flame, and they held him and his descendants in their grip. After the Shattering, Roundtable Knight Vyke met them too, but he never rose as a lord of chaos.
A frail light from them can be felt at the back of the eyes of anyone who gathers Shabriri Grapes, and they burn their fingerprints into the flesh and eyes of those they hold. Fingerprint Grapes are the eyes of such people.
Notes & tips
- With their flame, you can light the Flame of Ruin at the Forge of the Giants yourself instead of relying on Melina’s sacrifice.
- Accepting their flame is a big decision: Melina will not walk with you after that.
- Meeting them makes Shabriri vanish, leaving his Ronin’s gear behind.
- Festering Fingerprint Vyke was clasped directly by the Three Fingers, and their embrace melted his armour.
