A Memory Stone gives you one more memory slot for sorceries and incantations. There are eight in total, and with all of them you go from the starting two slots up to ten, or twelve if you also wear the Moon of Nokstella talisman. Four of them are in Liurnia of the Lakes.
How Memory Stones work
Memory Stones are key items, so there’s nothing to equip or activate. The extra slot is added the moment you pick one up, it’s permanent and you can’t lose it. That’s the difference from the Moon of Nokstella, which only counts while it sits in a talisman slot. Spells are then attuned at a Site of Grace as usual, and the new slot shows up right away. Five of the stones sit in chests at the top of towers (four rises and the Converted Tower), one is sold at Roundtable Hold and two are boss drops. More on how slots work on the Memory Slots page.

Tips
- The Twin Maiden Husks stone is the easiest one, as long as you can spare the runes.
- Two stones depend on the Academy Glintstone Key: one to enter the Academy for the Red Wolf, and a key for Thops to unlock the Converted Tower.
- Liurnia holds four stones, so a spellcaster who explores the lakes thoroughly gets most of their slots in one region.
- If you’re building around spells, combine all eight stones with the Moon of Nokstella for the maximum of twelve slots.
